The Alliance of Planning Professions in Canada Forum (PAF) was established in 2017 as a framework to collaborate, share information, recommend action on matters of national and regional significance, and network as a community of practice to advance the planning profession in Canada.
PAF members include the Presidents and Chairs of CIP and the Provincial or Territorial Institutes or Associations (PTIAs), the Standards Committee, and the Professional Standards Board (PSB). The senior staff of these organizations attend as observers.
PAF is intended to be a communication conduit between the organizations. It is not a decision-making body; however, it is recognized that PAF should be action-based in the form of strategic thinking, research, defining solution options, and making recommendations. Any matters requiring a decision are referred to the Boards or Councils for individual consideration and ratification.
