World Town Planning Day 2023: LEARN GLOBALLY, APPLY LOCALLY
Planners, urban designers and place-makers attended the 74th World Town Planning Day 2023 virtual conference, hosted by the APA, CIP, and APA’s International Division on November 8, 2023.
Tippe opened a session on equity and social justice featuring five speakers from around the world discussing innovative projects. Aabiya presented her research on using walking tours for neighborhood navigation. Ruth emphasized the importance of diverse perspectives in place-making. Alejandra from the Region 9 Development Commission highlighted global collaborations to support international students. Tilahun shared his research on perceptions of desirable Union spaces in Eastern African cities. Bruce thanked everyone and underscored the importance of global communication and strategy sharing within the planning profession.
