Hosting conversations about change is an ever-present part of the planning profession. As we all strive to plan for complete, inclusive communities, we must also strive to evolve engagement methods and approaches to become more inclusive and address structurally and historically excluded stakeholders and members of the public from the planning process.
Join us for a moderated discussion with planning professionals working in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and British Columbia where they reflect on their experiences with processes that ensured under-represented voices were brought to the forefront. We will explore topics such as what is necessary to build an inclusive engagement program from the ground up, what strategies are most effective for building trust with communities, and how methods have changed (for better or worse) since the accelerated shift to digital engagement during Covid.
