OTTAWA, April 24, 2025 –During this federal election, we wanted to hear directly from you about what matters most in your work. From March 21 to April 4, we ran a national survey that received 766 responses from members across the country. You shared the biggest challenges you’re facing, the changes you want to see, and the role you believe planners should play in shaping the future of Canada’s communities. Your insights are helping us focus our advocacy efforts where they count most.
So, what did you tell us?
You want CIP to:
- Make sure planners have a seat at the decision-making table
- Show how planning can help solve Canada’s biggest challenges
- Connect directly with policymakers to influence real change
- Push for stronger planning policies at all levels of government
- Help the public better understand the value of what planners do
We hear you and we’re on it. Stay tuned for more information about ways to get involved with CIP’s policy and advocacy work!
A huge thank-you to everyone who took the time to respond. With nearly 10,000 members from coast-to-coast-to-coast, planners are a powerful force working in support of smart, inclusive, and sustainable communities. Your input helps make our voice louder and our message clearer. We’re excited to keep working alongside you to advocate for the planning profession and for the future of the places we all call home.
