Tell Us Something Interesting About Yourself: The NEC’s 14 planners administer the Niagara Escarpment Plan, Canada’s first Environmental Land Use Plan and we protect the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve that runs 725 kilometres from Niagara Falls to Tobermory and is home to Canada’s longest footpath, the Bruce Trail. The Escarpment is home to many endangered and threatened species, prime agricultural areas, natural resources, recreation areas and 8 upper tier and 23 local municipalities.
What’s New or Exciting at Work?: The Niagara Escarpment Plan was updated in 2017 and contains new
