November 8 is World Town Planning Day! World Town Planning Day (WTPD) is an international day celebrating the accomplishments of planners and their contributions to their communities. Each year on November 8, planners around the world participate in World Town Planning Day activities, a practice that began in 1949.

At CIP we celebrate this day by spreading awareness of planning’s significance for our communities. To help spread this message, members can share their thoughts on social media using the hashtags #WTPD2021, #WTPD, and #WorldTownPlanningDay.

CIP is also hosting its own WTPD event. Our webinar, International Approaches to Healthy Communities, will take place from 1:00-2:30 pm EDT on November 8. We look forward to hearing from our global panel of speakers as they discuss the ties between community design and community health.
