Honours and Awards season is here! CIP is now accepting nominations for the 2023 CIP Emerging Planner Award (previously the President’s Award: Young Planner), College of Fellows, and Honorary Members of the Canadian Institute of Planners.
In recognition of the new Strategic Plan–1,835 Days of Impact–CIP proudly supports and recognizes excellence among Canadian planning professionals at various stages of their careers.
CIP also aims to change the face of planning through more equitable planning, together. The Institute celebrates and promotes diversity, equality, and inclusion by offering equal opportunities to all qualified individuals and believes that honouring planners who reflect the diversity of our membership and the Canadian population makes us stronger.
The nomination deadline for all categories is January 23, 2023.
CIP Emerging Planner Award
This award celebrates the leaders of tomorrow. It recognizes the outstanding professional success and achievement–including leadership and/or service to the profession–of a Canadian planner within their first ten years of professional planning experience. The award recipient also receives registration and financial support to attend CIP’s National Conference and awards ceremony. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged.
College of Fellows
Election as a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Planners is the highest award the Institute can give to a planner. This honour recognizes excellence, identifies prominent role models, promotes advances in planning practice, and draws leaders to the forefront of planning in Canada.
CIP Honorary Members
This prestigious distinction recognizes individuals working outside of the planning profession who have made a significant contribution to the promotion or enhancement of planning practice, the profession, or both. This honour acknowledges an individual’s extraordinary contribution to vitality, resilience, and sustainability in one or more communities across Canada and/or around the world.
