Retired Member
If you are a professional member who has fully retired from planning and left in good standing, join the Institute as a Retired Member or switch your membership type to Retired Member.
Non-Practicing
If you are going on a leave of absence (parental, medical, sabbatical, or other), it isn’t possible to put your CIP membership on hold; however, you may change your membership type to Non-Practicing. This change would first need to be done with your
Provincial and Territorial Institute and Association (PTIA). Once your PTIA has made the changes,
please inform us and we will update your membership status with CIP.
Member Benefits
If you live outside of Ontario and Québec, you will have to register with your Provincial and Territorial Institutes and Associations (PTIA), which will automatically register your status change.
