What are your hopes for the future of the planning profession?
I hope that the planning profession continues to grow and thrive with positive assertiveness and resilience moving into the future. With climate change, economic uncertainty, political instability, social inequity, and technological change, the world will need Professional Planners and human/environmental-oriented urban/regional/rural planning more than ever.
What are a few of your favourite places?
My favourite places are all about connections to others, the built/natural environment, andgreat memories. My list is always changing based on new travel adventures – it currently includes Halifax; Jasper; Vancouver and further afield, New Orleans (USA); St. Ives (UK); Kathmandu (Nepal); and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
Which person has most inspired your work in planning?
No single Professional Planner has most inspired my work. My inspiration comes from many talented Planners that I have had the honour to work alongside. It also comes from informal mentors, other professionals, and those whose planning practice I have admired via social media, publications, and conferences.
