Becoming a Member
Effective September 1, 2012, all applications for Candidate membership in CIP and our provincial affiliates are being directed to a new arms-length body, the Professional Standards Board for the Planning Profession in Canada (PSB). The PSB also now administers the certification process for the Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation, and is also responsible for the accreditation of university planning programs in Canada.
Please note: This does not apply to residents of Quebec nor to student applicants from anywhere in Canada.
For Candidate/Provisional Members Accepted on or before August 31, 2012 ONLY
Existing Candidate/Provisional members who were accepted on or before August 31, 2012 will proceed through to Full Member status through the process that was in place when their application was originally accepted. This includes logging the appropriate amount of experience and successfully sitting the professional examination.
