Planning Student Trust Fund Scholarships
Planning Student Trust Fund
In 1989, our Institute embarked on an ambitious plan to create a Planning Student Trust Fund. After incorporating as a separate entity under the Canada Corporation Act, the fund received charitable status in 1990.
The object of the fund is to contribute to the advancement of community planning by providing scholarships to students currently studying in this field.
Contributions do not go to the Canadian Institute of Planners, but rather directly to the Planning Student Trust Fund. The board of Directors of this newly created corporation is comprised of planners from across Canada. These Directors have clear powers to promote, manage and govern the administration of the fund.
Contributions made will remain in a capital fund to generate interest in perpetuity. The interest will be used to award scholarships to eligible planning students. All contributions to the fund are tax deductible and will receive a tax receipt.
