Beauty Bay
Kenora, ON
Neighbourhood
Nestled alongside Black Sturgeon Lake in beautiful North-Western Ontario, Beauty Bay is located 15 minutes from downtown Kenora. Having originated in 1972 with the establishment of a golf course, Beauty Bay has grown into a residential community where families and retirees can live seasonally or year-round. This intimate and quaint community is home to approximately 125 individuals.
Beauty Bay offers a piece of natural paradise where flora and fauna abound in a boreal and deciduous forest. Bird watchers will be in awe of all the eagles and other birds they can spot in this part of the Canadian Shield, as will wildlife enthusiasts with the diversity of animals for which this is home.
An array of outdoor sports and recreational activities are sure to keep people of all ages and interests busy year-round. The calmness of its lake and its hot summer days offer residents of Beauty Bay great paddling, swimming, fishing, and boating. For the keen sportsperson, its 18-hole destination golf course offers a challenging round with breathtaking views. It is truly one of Kenora's gems. Residents also enjoy gardening, skiing, snowmobiling, skating, and so much more.
Beauty Bay is an ideal neighbourhood to raise a family in the summertime and throughout the year, exposing children to the magic of the great outdoors beyond the limits of an urban centre. It is also a safe and affordable place to live year-round.
Beauty Bay — a place to stay, play, relax and create memories for a lifetime.
Beauty Bay is unique in that it is community owned and operated. Residents, therefore, have a huge influence in shaping this neighbourhood's character for present and future generations.
Family and a sense of community are at the core of this group's values. Each year, a community barbecue is held, bringing together everyone to celebrate the transition from summer to fall. At this time, and during the numerous other special holiday weekends, fireworks paint the sky for everyone to admire. Communication is regular with all residents as they continue to get to know their neighbours and grow in the comfort of their homes.
Planners were at the start of what is known today as Beauty Bay Park and Golf Course. They designed and established a 9-hole golf course in this part of the Canadian Shield almost 40 years ago, only to have it eventually be developed into an 18-hole destination golf course. Subsequently, people were allowed to build or establish cottages, trailers and homes around this masterpiece, to the extent where Beauty Bay has become a seasonal home to families and a year-round home to several.
Beauty Bay is a very intimate neighbourhood that offers people of all ages a sense of place, a sense of identity, a sense of community. It is a quaint and modern part of Canada where people value their environment and all of its beauty.
