St. Victor Petroglyphs
St. Victor, SK
St. Victor Petroglyphs are on the second highest spot in Saskatchewan, just south of the village of St. Victor. They’re in St. Victor Provincial Park and have been there for hundreds and hundreds of years.
There is a walking path, and the site is wheelchair accessible once you have driven up the hill. Up there, you can see for miles and miles, if it’s a clear day. Imagining the spot of the First peoples being there is awe-inspiring. Most times, you will have the place to yourself — to meditate, journal, think, or just picnic with friends & family. Be sure to read the historical plaques.
The Village of St. Victor has been a champion of this great space. Saskatchewan Parks put up the plaques, made a seating area, and the walking path. It is fenced, so people wouldn’t walk on the actual petroglyphs.
I think it’s important that more people go and see the Petroglyphs before they erode away....
