The winning places in each category will be determined by a combination of the number of votes each place receives and the expert opinion of a panel of professional Planners chosen by the Canadian Institute of Planners.
The "People's Choice" in each category (street, neighbourhood, and public space) will be determined by online voters. The place with the greatest number of votes wins.
Places cannot be declared a CIP Great Place in Canada in two consecutive years; (i.e., last year's winners are not eligible.)
