Is being a planner your chosen career path? CIP extends many of its member benefits to students.

 

Benefits of CIP Student Membership

Students enrolled in an accredited university planning program are encouraged to apply for student membership in CIP. CIP’s student membership benefits are aimed to enhance educational and professional development for planners-to-be.
 
For just $22.03 (plus applicable taxes) CIP’s student membership benefits include:

  • Print and digital subscription to Plan Canada (login to access) the premier planning magazine in Canada.
  • Digital subscription to the Canadian Journal of Urban Research, the Canadian journal focused on planning theory and practice.
  • Eligibility to apply to CIP’s planning scholarships and awards.
  • Eligibility to apply to CIP's Student Awards for Academic Excellence.
  • Reduced rate for CIP’s national conference.
  • Travel funding for student presenters at  CIP’s national conference.
  • Regular communiques from CIP, as well as access to digital journals and other online resources.
  • Free subscription to the Zoning Trilogyan essential online resource for zoning and planning policy. This offer expires August 2017.
 

Become a Student Member

Student membership in CIP is obtained through student membership with your Provincial and Territorial Institutes and Association.

There are two exceptions: Ontario and Quebec.

Planning students in Ontario must first apply for student membership with the Ontario Professional Planning Institute. Once approved, students must apply to CIP separately by completing this simple form:
