Following a very successful Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) program in 2021, the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) is now welcoming webinar and online workshop proposals for the 2022 program.

The submission deadline is Friday, February 4 at 5:00 p.m. EST. Proposals are being accepted via the platform Submittable here.

Request for Proposals – 2022 CPL Webinar Series

Since its inception in 2020, the CPL program has produced over 40 live webinars for approximately 3,900 attendees. These webinars have featured new and progressive perspectives on current and emerging planning issues from diverse geographies and aspects of the planning profession.

In 2022, building upon our success and member feedback, CIP will offer online learning content that helps planners enhance their skillsets, including technical and “soft” skills (e.g. negotiation and influencing skills, project management, communication and facilitation, ethics in planning, emerging legal and regulatory issues, etc.). We will also continue to offer learning opportunities that advance CIP’s policies on Climate Change, Healthy Communities, and Reconciliation, and supports the objectives of the Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Roadmap.

If you have an idea for a 2022 webinar or workshop presentation that aligns with these objectives, we’d love to hear from you: Please create a Submittable account and complete the application form. The submission deadline is February 4th at 5:00 p.m ET.

Based on the proposals received, CIP will work with our applicants to develop a dynamic and engaging national online learning program with a diversity of voices, perspectives, and expertise.

Please note that this process often results in a high level of interest and CIP is unable to guarantee that all submissions will be accepted; however, those not selected may be considered for future programming or moderating opportunities.
