Nancy Griffiths MCIP

Nancy Griffiths has been a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners since 1998. She has 23 years of experience in business, government and non-profits and currently practices in St. John’s Newfoundland as Associate Planner and Team Lead of Amec Foster Wheeler’s Human Environment Group. Nancy recently resigned from her role with the Board of the Atlantic Planners Institute where she has served for 10 years. She was an active Board member during the CIP transition process and is thus is familiar with why and how recent changes have occurred. A national standardized system now facilitates accreditation of planning education and admission of new practitioners. Planners still need a strong national body to ensure cross-Canada consistency but it is also evident that change must occur. This is an important time for CIP and the PTIAs to examine their roles and functions in serving Canadian Planners.
