Educated at Dalhousie and the Technical University of Nova Scotia, Mary has worked as a professional planner in Newfoundland and Labrador for the past 30 years as a planning consultant, provincial civil servant, and Director of Planning for the Town of Conception Bay South.
Active in the planning profession, she has served in positions in the NL Branch, as API President, and on CIP Council. She co-wrote the Kids Guide to Building Great Communities, chaired the CIP Awards Committee and the Program Committee for two CIP conferences in held St. John’s. She was elected to the College of Fellows in 2004.
This is an exciting time for CIP. Mary looks forward to contributing to its renewal, and to regaining the confidence it has had as a strong organization whose voice contributes to discussion of national issues relevant to planners, the planning profession, and the communities we serve.
